The Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Foundation as well as the design and implementation of the Foundation’s strategy, funding plan and operational plan. The Chief Executive Officer reports to the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
David Tipler joined the Foundation in February 2008 with more than 15 years corporate experience in both London and Sydney. Having worked in a variety of senior HR, Marketing and Sales roles in large multinational organisations such as Hewlett-Packard, PeopleSoft and PricewaterhouseCoopers, David took a short career break to complete a psychology thesis in physical activity motivation techniques. Following this break David joined the not-for-profit sector as the Head of Marketing & Fundraising at CanTeen, the Australian Organisation for Young People Living with Cancer. After five years with CanTeen David joined the newly formed St George Medical Research Foundation, as its first Chief Executive Officer.
