The St George Medical Research Foundation is made up of a Board of Directors comprising 14 people drawn from the medical and business communities as well as the local Member of the NSW Parliament; a Scientific Advisory Committee, made up of 14 leading medical professionals from St George Hospital and The University of New South Wales and a small but dedicated professional staff, comprising the Chief Executive Officer and Financial Controller.
The Foundation Board of Directors is responsible for the strategic direction, governance and growth of the Foundation whilst the Scientific Advisory Committee oversees the research grant application process and ensures that the available funding is directed to the most worthwhile research projects. Both the Board and the Scientific Advisory Committee are committed to robust, high quality, outcomes-based medical research – research that will have a significant impact on the lives of those impacted by the diseases that are being investigated.
