25th September 2015
Kevin Greene tackled a grueling 27 km walk on Friday the 25th of September to raise much needed funds for the St George & Sutherland Medical Research Foundation.
A staunch supporter of the Foundation, Kevin set a new personal challenge in 2015 in conjunction with the St George District Cricket Club.
The former NSW Sports and Racing Minister and State MP for Georges River and Oatley walked throughout the St George region to coincide with the launch of the 2015 cricket season.
“Cricket is Australia’s favourite sport and with the start of a new season it’s a good opportunity to remember our important role in the community,” Mr Greene said.
“The Research Foundation is doing some amazing work and I hope all cricketers, families and friends will support their work with a donation.”

Kevin started at the Georges River, Tom Ugly’s Bridge, continued up to Cooks River Bridge at Wolli Creek and concluded at Salt Pan Creek Bridge, Peakhurst.
Along the way he stopped at some of his generous sponsors – St George Bank in Montgomery Street, Kogarah; Club Central, Hurstville; Warren Saunders Insurance Brokers, Forest Road, Hurstville and Club Rivers at Riverwood.
Kevin also popped by St George Hospital and St George’s home cricket grounds – Hurstville Oval, Harold Fraser Oval, Carss Park and Cahill Park, Wolli Creek. His route also took in Hurstville, Rockdale and Kogarah Councils.
In 2014, Kevin took on an ice bucket challenge and raised over $12,000 for the Foundation. So, please dig deep, and help Kevin smash his fundraising goal 2015! Please click here to support Kevin.
