Annual MTMC Charity Walk Raises Funds for SSMRF

On Saturday 2nd November, nearly 200 walkers embarked on a 30km walk to raise funds for SSMRF and UOW medical research.

The annual Michael Tynan Memorial Challenge is now in its 4th year and is hosted by Madeline Tynan and the Tynan family.

The event launched early in the day with a light breakfast and safety check at Tradies Helensburgh before setting off from Otford lookout.

The walkers were treated to gourmet sandwiches, fruit and gelato for lunch as well as snacks and lollies on the way to keep the energy levels up.

The day ended at Bundeena RSL with a celebration for all walkers and volunteers.

SSMRF CEO Jacquie Stratford was amongst the walkers, joining her was Associate Professor Peter Gonski, Associate Professor Greg Davis, Professor Emad El-Omar and the team from the Microbiome Research Centre.

SSMRF thanks the Tynan family for their on going support of the Foundation and medical research.
