The Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) course is designed to help healthcare professionals improve patient care and outcomes during the critical first hours of a patient’s neurological emergency. Now in its third version, ENLS demonstrates a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach and provides a consistent set of protocols, practical checklists, decision points, and suggested communication to use during patient management.
Following on from the 7th International Hypothermia and Temperature Management Symposium (IHTMS) in Sydney, the ICU Department at St George Hospital have gathered world experts to present this course on Friday 31st August. Scholarships are available for up to 20 participants of the ENLS course to attend the IHTMS Symposium. Further details are below.
This course is suitable to specialists, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, registrars, residents and college trainees.
Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea will be provided.

The St George Hospital ICU in conjunction with SSMRF, is pleased to offer 10 Nursing and Allied Health Scholarships and 10 Junior Medical Scholarships (to the value of $660 each) to facilitate participation in 3-and-a-half days of practical education and cutting edge research in Resuscitation, Targeted Temperature Management and Multimodality Monitoring in Neurological Emergency and Intensive Care.
The 7th International Hypothermia and Temperature Management Symposium (www.ihtms.org) is an exciting scientific program featuring over 25 international experts in the field of TTM, ECMO and CPR, as well as practical sessions on induced cooling and neuromonitoring.
The scholarships will enable successful applicants to attend the 7th International Hypothermia and Temperature Management Symposium (www.ihtms.org), held in Sydney on 28-30th August, 2018 (including a cocktail evening and harbour dinner cruise) once you have registered for the Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) course, held at St George Hospital on Friday, 31st August.
To qualify for the scholarships, applicants will be required to:
– Be registered for the ENLS Course (insert link to registrations)
– Submit a short brief (maximum 250 words), outlining how this educational opportunity will enhance their goals as a practitioner in intensive care
– Provide details of their current employment;
– and be available to attend the IHTMS for all 3 days.
