Golf Day raises $18,000 for Medical Research

On the 23rd August St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation held their annual charity golf day at The Australian Golf Club.

The member-sponsored day saw Cronulla golfer Matthew Giles host the event for the fourth year running.

The big winner on the day was medical research, with $18,000 raised to support innovative projects at St George and Sutherland hospitals.

The Ambrose medley stableford event teed off at 8am at the prestigious course, the home of 20 Australian Open tournaments.

Nine teams of four enjoyed a superb morning of golf in idyllic conditions.

Solutions Plumbing, captained by Ryan Carr, were the winners with a nett score of 53.5

Matthew Worthington and his team finished close behind in second with 55.75.

Nearest to the pin on the second hole went to Dax De Traubenberg while Matt Sedgmen won the longest drive on the 12th.
