Despite the rainy weather, 36 enthusiastic golfers turned out for the annual SSMRF Golf Day at the prestigious Australian Golf Club on Thursday, helping to raise over $40,000 for medical research in the St George and Sutherland hospitals.
The day brought together teams from local businesses for a morning of friendly competition followed by a gourmet lunch in the Club’s stunning dining room. Golfers played through the rain, all in support of a great cause, with funds raised supporting SSMRF medical research grants, which support local, life-saving medical research.
Pam Brown, CEO of SSMRF, said: “It was truly inspiring to see so many people brave the rain and come together to support local medical research. Events like our Golf Day not only raise vital funds but also strengthen our community’s connection to the incredible work being done in our hospitals. We’re so grateful to everyone who played, donated, and sponsored. Your support helps us drive real impact through our research grants program.”
Congratulations to the WED Group, who claimed the winner’s trophy, and to our other award recipients:

A huge thank you to our major sponsor, Club Central Hurstville, whose Chair Brian Cloney presented SSMRF’s Pam Brown with a $10,000 cheque on the day, and to all of our generous prize sponsors who helped make the day such a success.
