Research helped save my life
Help fund the next breakthrough. Donate by 30 June.
At just 18, Chloe’s life changed in an instant. A devastating head-on crash left her with 27 injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. She became part of a local research trial at St George Hospital which helped inform a life-saving brain-cooling device now used globally.
Now, we need your help to fund the next breakthrough. We’re raising $30,000 by 30 June to support early-stage, high-potential medical research at St George and Sutherland Hospitals. Every dollar helps save lives through science.

Meet Chloe
When Chloe was just 18, she was a state ocean swimmer on the cusp of Olympic trials.
The next day, everything changed.
A head-on car crash in regional NSW left her with 27 injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. Airlifted to St George Hospital, her prognosis was bleak.
Then came a turning point.
“We were approached by Dr Manoj Saxena, who asked for our permission for Chloe to be part of a research trial targeting brain-cooling in traumatic brain injuries,” shared Chloe’s mum, Nyrie.
Thanks to a locally funded research grant, Chloe became part of a pioneering brain injury trial investigating whether paracetamol could safely reduce brain temperature and swelling.
The results? Life-saving.
Now, Chloe has walked the Kokoda Track, finished studying and is an education support worker, and is a proud research consumer helping others. Her story is proof that research works – and that every dollar matters.
