SSMRF supporters on Australia Day Honours List

Congratulations to these SSMRF supporters for their well-deserved recognition in the 2024 Australia Day Honours List.

Sutherland Shire deputy mayor Carol Provan has been an exceptional supporter of SSMRF events and a dedicated community advocate.

“Cr Provan was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Australia Day Honours for service to local government and to the community of Sutherland Shire.”

SSMRF supporter Mr  John (Wes) Owsnett was posthumously awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours. His contributions to our cause and the community will always be remembered.

“Mr Owsnett was a highly successful businessman and philanthropist, who dedicated himself to the betterment of the community, particularly through the Lugarno Lions where he was a foundation member and enormous fundraiser for medical and social causes.”

We celebrate these incredible individuals who have made a significant impact on the Sutherland Shire and beyond.
