The St George & Sutherland Medical Research Foundation (SSMRF) was honoured to be named a finalist in the 2025 Waste Innovation & Recycling Awards, a national program celebrating outstanding achievements in resource recovery, recycling and sustainability.

While SSMRF did not take home the top award this year, we are proud to have been recognised alongside so many innovative organisations committed to driving positive environmental outcomes.

Congratulations to the winner in our Outstanding WARR Project category, Metro – Veolia – Veolia Earthpower Upgrade, for their well-deserved recognition and inspiring contribution to the sector.

This nomination highlights our commitment to sustainability and community impact through our recycling initiative, Recycle for Research, which helps to raise money towards vital local medical research.

Thank you to Waste Management Review and the awards judges for this recognition, and to our supporters who make every achievement possible.
