World Head and Neck Cancer Day 2020

Every day 13 people in Australia are diagnosed with a type of head and neck cancer and over 17,000 people are living with the side effects of treatment, including treatment-related swallowing dysfunction.

In 2019, SSMRF provided funding to Dr Michal Szczesniak and Dr Peter Wu from the Department of Gastroenterology at St George Hospital to undertake research focused on improving and mitigating swallow dysfunction associated with head and neck cancer therapies.

Hear an update from the Doctors on their research…be sure to stay tuned to the end of the video.
